I just talked to the marina where my new boat is sitting under wraps. He said maybe mid to late April. I could go out this weekend, but I don't have indoor storage. Once the boat is de-winterized, it can't be exposed to freezing temps. It's not uncommon to snow in April in Iowa. Well there is another problem of boat ramps being currently flooded on our main lake. Water will start to recede shortly. Texas sounds real good to me right now.

Tomorrow!! :-)

The weather here in N.Ireland has been pretty mild so I went up and collected my boat on Tuesday. I've been poking around on it for a few days, trying to look as though I know what I'm doing and making checklists for coming and going procedures, but tomorrow's going to be the big day - really looking forward to it. Unfortunately I don't have too much time tomorrow but I'm happy to ease myself in gently anyway.

Cheers,
McB

We expect a detailed report on your shake-down cruise. Have fun man. And don't forget to bring a camera and post some photos in the gallery.

How did your day turn out? Thanks for adding a picture to the gallery. That's a great looking boat!

Oh dear folks, I'm afraid things didn't turn out as planned at the weekend. I had a few family commitments and didn't manage to get out. I could have really managed some time but I didn't want my first trip to be rushed so I decided to postpone. The most stinking weather has arrived now and I'm off to Egypt for a week on Thursday so it'll not be happening until Friday 9th at the earliest.

I did go up and sit in the boat on the trailer for an hour! :-)

Ah, you were able to sit on the boat.  Heck, I'll even take that!  Mine is still in storage.  All I can do is look at it.  :-(

Well that's more than I've been able to do. Still waiting for weather. There will be better days.

I just got off the phone with the marina. Shake-down cruise is scheduled for April 9th. I'll take some pictures and post 'em up barring a rain out or and major disasters:) I'm really looking forward to this!

I went out and peeled back the factory wrap and took a couple pics. I just had to. They're in the gallery. Thanks Steve and family! This is going to be great. I probably won't be able to sleep until the 9th now that I've seen it. I feel like a little kid.

Temp tonight is 32 F. I called the marina and told them if they've had the motor running/cycling water, that I'd like to have it stored inside. I don't know if a few hours of 32 degrees will cause damage. It looks good in the 10 day forecast after tonight. I'm really, really excited for tomorrow at 1pm.
